Cheyenne Canon is a regional park in Colorado Springs that is home to miles and miles of maintained trails and beautiful views. If you are looking to elope in Colorado Springs, you should consider a Cheyenne Canon elopement!
Kate + Jon are from Wisconsin. This is important to this story because I, too, and from Wisconsin! There’s something so special to me about showing my fellow Wisconsinites around Colorado.
K + J initially met on a dating app—Jon had only had his account for 12 hours when they matched! Kate + Jon immediately hit it off and the rest is history. They have built a beautiful life together in their home with their three kitties.
They eloped on 4/14, their dating anniversary, which also happens to be their area code (414)! Their elopement in Colorado was their first time visiting the state!
Kate and Jon reached out to me and said they wanted to elope in Colorado Springs and needed help finding locations, figuring out logistics, and connecting with cool vendors for their special day. They told me they wanted beautiful views and were up for some adventure. After I sent over a list of beautiful locations in Colorado Springs for their elopement ceremony, K + J decided on Cheyenne Canon for its accessibility from town and moderate difficulty level.
On the day of their elopement, I met K + J at Garden of the Gods resort for photos of them getting ready. They got dressed together, put their matching converse on, grabbed their picnic basket, and hit the road. The first place we stopped was Mesa Overlook since it was not even half a mile from Garden of the Gods Resort. The lighting was beautiful and it was the perfect timing for some snuggles in from of the iconic red rock at Garden of the Gods and kissing camels. After that, we headed up to Gold Camp road to explore Cheyenne Canon.
Kate and Jon were amazing on their hike to the ceremony location! They led the way and hauled up that trail which is impressive when coming from sea level. They were in love with the spot they chose to say their vows. We had the place to ourselves.
After their ceremony, we took some portraits and then found a place with less wind to sign their marriage license and whip out the picnic. Garden of the Gods Resorts sent them off with some yummy stuff. I was so happy when they told me they thought of me and packed me a sandwich and snacks too!
As we headed back down the trail and those just married feels started to set it, they took in the beautiful views.
