Helpful Things to Know For Your Cheyenne Lodge Wedding at the Broadmoor
Considering a Cheyenne Lodge Wedding at the Broadmoor? Makese sense because the Cheyenne Lodge is one of the venues offered by the historic hotel The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, and is the definition of mountain chic, combining sophisticated indoor spaces with a rustic outdoor location.
If you’re looking through the various Broadmoor wedding venues and can’t figure out which one is right for you, check out this guide to the Cheyenne Lodge based on my experience of photographing weddings there! I’ll share all the key venue details, plus advice I’ve gathered over the years to help you figure out if the Cheyenne Lodge is a fit and then make the most of your special day.
Why Choose a Cheyenne Lodge Wedding at the Broadmoor
The Cheyenne Lodge at the Broadmoor has a number of unique draws to consider:
- Views, views, views! One thing I love about the Cheyenne Lodge is that it has gorgeous natural lighting, floor-to-ceiling windows, and beautiful surroundings, which make for great photos. The venue is snuggled up at the foot of the Rockies, with views of both the mountains and Colorado Springs.
- Convenient Location. You don’t need to go far from downtown Colorado Springs to feel like you’re immersed in nature, and the Cheyenne Lodge is an example of just that. The property is about 18 minutes driving from downtown Colorado Springs and 7 minutes from The Broadmoor, but offers instant access to nature. It’s also close to places like Garden of the Gods and Red Rock Canyon Open Space—both striking locations for portraits!
- Dog-Friendly. It’s not super common to find wedding venues that welcome dogs, but the Cheyenne Lodge is an exception! Great news for couples who want to include their four-legged family members in their special day.
- Indoor and Outdoor Spaces. Colorado weather can be unpredictable, but the Cheyenne Lodge at the Broadmoor has both indoor and outdoor spaces so you can soak up nature outside or step inside if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Tips for a Cheyenne Lodge Wedding
Now I want to let you in on a couple of secrets I’ve learned from my experience with Broadmoor weddings. Here is my best advice for the Cheyenne Lodge:
- Opt for a Fall Wedding. This venue is available year-round, but truly shines between the end of September and mid-October, when the foliage turns the nearby hillsides an array of fall colors. This makes for such memorable scenery and spectacular photos!
- Take Advantage of Nearby Outdoor Spaces. The Cheyenne Lodge itself is picturesque, but for truly unique photos you can also take advantage of nearby outdoor spaces like Garden of the Gods National Natural Landmark and the Red Rock Canyon Open Space. You don’t need a permit or any special permission to take photos here, and can slip away for portraits or family shots before returning to the lodge to get the party started.
