You guys probably recognize Madison and Nelson from their In-Home Denver Engagement Session and from their Crested Butte engagement session in front of my favorite waterfall! They finally threw a party and celebrated with family in February at Creekside Event Center in Colorado Springs. AND, I got to be there Colorado Springs Wedding Photographer! Their day was beautiful and SO MUCH FUN and I’m super pumped to share it with you.
The day starts with the ladies getting their hair done, doing their makeup, and a furry baby named Miller showing up (we joke the Miller and my golden, Boomer, are a couple—Miller is a girl btw lol). There was spicy shrimp going around and whoever had the aux was doing their best to keep it! Next, Madison and Nelson go to their first look spot and read their private vows together! Side note: first looks aren’t for everyone and YOUR DAY YOUR WAY BABY but if you’re considering it, I would do it. It’s one of the few times during your entire day that you can check in and have some time to breath with your honey. Moving on, Madison and her dad had a very emotional first look and everyone in the room was crying–including me.
The ceremony was beautiful and I couldn’t get over how amazing everyone looked! Their bridal party was seriously stunning! The family formals were outside and cold but they were troopers and looked very warm and happy lol. NOW ON TO THE RECEPTION, the part that I’ve been the most excited to talk about lol. Okay, so Nelson is Nigerian. In order to honor his Nigerian culture, they chose to incorporate some traditional Nigerian events in the reception! Like Madison bringing Nelson to her father for his blessing and women on Nelson’s side bringing gifts to Madison! It was so frickin’ awesome and everyone had so much fun! The dance party was nuts and the DJ killed it. Okok, I’m done gushing. Madison and Nelson, let’s do it again! Okay?! Okay cool.
Creekside Event Center is an awesome venue in the middle of Colorado Springs and there is an outdoor option for summer time! The planner is so helpful and awesome and if you’re considering doing a walkthrough, DO IT! Oh, and holler if you need me to be your Colorado Springs Wedding Photographer 🙂
