Liz + Logan’s wedding at the Hearth House Venue near Colorado Springs was beautiful. I mean it. Everything about it. The couple, their peeps, all of the love, their final dance (I will get back to this later, stay with me). Liz + Logan met and fell in love at the Air Force Academy. They graduated the May before they tied the knot. Obviously the purpose of this was a wedding to celebrate their love. But! It was also an opportunity to party HARD with their bffs/ fellow grads before everyone when their separate ways to their next base. I am still over the mooooon that they chose me to be their Colorado Wedding Photographer!
So let’s start from the beginning, as soon as I pulled up to their house 20 minutes early to inhale my Chick Fil A, it started dumping (AND I MEAN DUMPING) rain. Good thing that Colorado can be pouring rain one second, hailing the next, and have sun and 70 degrees 30 minutes later lol. Everyone stayed calm, cool, and collected. When the rain stopped, we grabbed some photos outside before heading over to the Hearth House venue!
The ceremony was lovely. At one point, Liz and Logan’s families embraced them as their officiant prayed over them. I cried, like I do, and it was just a really powerful couple of minutes. Everyone erupted as Liz and Logan had their first kiss and started walking back down the aisle! The sun came out just in time for the cocktail hour! The speeches and dances were so touching and emotional. Did I mention how much these two are loved?! AANDDDDD the dance party was wild lol just like I prefer them to be! A ton of dancing, lots of alcohol, smiles everywhere. An actual dream.
Right before the exit, everyone lined up outside. Okay, now. Before I get into this, I think it’s fair to say I’m in love with Rascal Flatts. I would’ve seen them at Red Rocks a couple months after my daughter was born but she wasn’t having it. Now that you know, I’m sure you can imagine my reaction as the DJ hit the lights AND TURNED ON GOD BLESS THE BROKEN ROAD!!
When you scroll down look at that embrace. Seriously, look at that emotion. They held each other and took in all of the love they felt that day all while I was literally weeping (like the ugly cry where you can’t help but put your hand over your mouth. The one specifically reserved for instances like seeing Mark watch Lexie die after the plane crash in season 8 of Grey’s Anatomy…if that was a spoiler I’m sorry, I just need to paint a picture here). This was by far, the most beautiful moment of the night. It almost brought me to my knees.
