Priest Lake Campground Elopement in Telluride

Priest Lake Campground is the perfect spot for an intimate elopement outside of Telluride–it’s accessible, allows for groups up to 16, and has beautiful views!

Dezirae and Austin met when they were 15 years old and have been inseparable ever since! They have always valued photos and intimate, intentional experiences — after 9 years, they decided to bring their families up from Texas and tie the knot in the San Juan Mountains.

A & D woke up the morning of their elopement and journaled together about their upcoming day. Leading up to the ceremony, they got ready with their families and exchanged gifts, hugs, and shared some tears. After a gorgeous ceremony at Priest Lake Campground, we popped on over to Trout Lake for portraits before going back to the rental for dinner and toasts.

My family did not have much growing up, but my mom always had photos and stories. From a young age, I learned the value of stories that a single photo could spark. Neither mine nor Austin’s families have wedding photos, and it became a dream of mine to capture such a milestone that would create stories to last a lifetime.” – D & A
