Why Consider St. Julien Hotel and Spa in Boulder

Here’s some reasons the St. Julien Hotel and Spa in Boulder, CO should be top of your venue tour list:

  • Location. St. Julien is located in the heart of Boulder, just a short walk away from the Pearl Street Mall pedestrian center, with easy access to cute cafes, amazing restaurants, and boutiques. It’s also a short drive from the Chautauqua Park, a beautiful slice of nature that’s part historical landmark, part outdoor recreation area. By the way, the park makes for great family or portrait photos
  • Photo Opportunities. In addition to Boulder’s nearby photogenic natural spaces, the St. Julien itself makes for great photos to capture your precious memories. From the outdoor gazebo or patios strung with lights that offer direct views of the Flatirons to the simple yet classy ballroom, there are plenty of great photo backgrounds on the property.
  • Food and Amenities. The food at St. Julien is amazing and often one of couples’ favorite things about having a wedding there! Other amenities the hotel’s wedding packages include are an on-site wedding specialist, bridal suite, access to high-quality vendors, and excellent service.
  • On-Site Spa. Let’s be honest—as special as weddings are, they’re also incredibly stressful, from wrangling friends and family to making sure every last detail is taken care of and more. Because St. Julien has a world-class spa and salon, you can book treatments like massages or facials leading up to the big day to help you relax and get ready.
  • Variety of Available Venues. Whether you’re looking for an intimate gathering space or a grand ballroom where you can fit all your friends and family, the St. Julien has an option for you. More in the next section!

The St. Julien Hotel and Spa offers several different spaces you can rent for your special day. Here is a quick overview of the options:

  • Xanadu Ballroom. You can reserve just a section of the ballroom or the entire space depending on how much space you need. The full ballroom can seat up to 400 people, or 240 plus a large dance floor.
  • Meeting Rooms and Suites. Though the meeting rooms and suites are probably most appropriate for business functions, they’re still available to rent for intimate weddings, the largest of which can fit up to 56 people seated.
  • Outdoor Spaces. You can reserve the St. Julien’s terraces, lawn, or outdoor court area, perfect during the warm months of the year and ideal for stunning photos with the Flatirons in the background. These spaces can seat up to 275 people, so are ideal for even large gatherings.
  • Lobby and T-Zero Cocktail Lounge. There are other areas of the hotel that you can reserve for your special day, like the lobby area and cocktail lounge. These are great spots to hang out before or after the ceremony.

Tips for St. Julien Hotel and Spa Weddings

Before you reserve St. Julien Hotel and Spa for your big day, read this list of insider info that I’ve learned over the years from photographing weddings here:

  • You need a permit from the City of Boulder if you want to take photos in the Chautauqua Park! They need at least 2 weeks to process your permit, your photographer should be on it but get with the to check. My permit was checked on a Saturday morning in August.
  • Parking is limited in Boulder, so build transportation and parking time into your wedding timeline. If you’re taking a party bus, you can take advantage of bus-specific parking that’s usually empty. There is free public parking next door for guests, though!
  • Be aware that the St. Julien is located on an intersection, so there may be some minimal traffic noise, especially when outside. You can also see stoplights from some angles in the outdoor spaces, but photographers can easily edit those out.
