Alyssa reached out to me hoping that I wouldn’t mind their families joining for their summer Breckenridge engagement sesson. You see, Ryan is getting sent off to Korea for the next year and Alyssa and their pup, Sloan, aree leaving for Germany shortly after. So, they wanted their engagment session to be one last family celebration before their next chapter of very long distance. & You guys know what i said!! I love a good old family affair!
Alyssa + Ryan met at USAFA, fell in love, did a year of distance while Ry was waiting for Alyssa to graduate. Then they spent a BEAUTIFUL year together in Colorado. I’ve known the both of them for a while, so it’s been super fun to see their relationship grow into what it is today. I love a good love story lol.
Alyssa and Ryan looked so happy to have their family with them. They shared some special moments on the side of that mountain that they’ll cherish forever. Forever stoked that they chose me to document it. Finally, before we get into the goods. I would like to point out that Lys + Ry told me that they always looked awkward in front of the camera. & Like always, I giggled and told them no way and that they would look amazing. I was right. Enjoy this summer Breckenridge engagement session, my friends! I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
PRO TIP: Be prepared for snow in June. I lot of folks think that as soon as summer hits, all of the snow in the mountains melts. That’s just not true lol. I showed up the night before to check out the current trail conditions. I wanted to make a plan for the next day. You guys, I’m sososo glad that I did. The trail was inaccessible until a quarter of the way up the mountain. And, even then, there were snowbanks covering it the rest of the way. I found a nice flat area that only required one snowbank crossing. Find a photographer that takes trail conditions seriously! You want to show up knowing that they have a plan. No one wants to run around on the day of!
Wow you guys, I hope you loved this summer Breckenridge engagement session as much as I did! Here is what Alyssa sent to me after she and Ryan were able to go through the gallery together: “We are smiling ear to ear (and shedding a few tears too) going through all of these. I don’t know how you did it but you gave us memories to last a lifetime!! So many of these will be made into canvases and flip books, etc and be kept in the family forever. You did that girl. Thank you for such a gift you have seriously found a calling and you make so many people happy with your art!! Ugh I’m just elated at the quality and emotions captured”
If you’re looking for a photog to capture you and your honey somewhere out in nature, I’m your gal! Reach out and we can get planning!
