Black Lake Ranch Intimate Wedding in Silverthorne, Colorado

Check out this fall Black Lake Ranch Wedding! I’m so pumped to finally get it up on my blog! Get ready to feast your eyes on one of the prettiest views in all of Colorado 🙂

When Cathleen asked me to photograph her intimate wedding in the mountains near Silverthorne, I was super pumped. When she told me that she and her honey, Wayne, were getting married on a private ranch that his family worked on when he was a kid, I legit couldn’t wait.

C + W are still very close to the family who owns it and they recreate there often – think hiking, fishing, and four wheelers. It’s the coolest thing ever when couples are able to choose a venue/location that is a huge part of their story. Black Lake Ranch (not a working ranch anymore, now used for fishing trips) is a huge part of theirs. 

Okay, here we go:

We started our time together by them giving me a little tour on the back of a four wheeler (it was my first time on one and, I have to say, I’m quite the fan lol)! I snapped a couple of photos of Cathleen, Wayne, Jordan (Wayne’s daughter), and their pup on our way up to the lake. Eventually, it was time to head up to the lodge to get ready. I followed Cathleen and Wayne through the most beautiful grove of aspen. The last little stretch was uphill. AND THENNNNN I laid my eyes on one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEWS I’VE EVER SEEN. Seriously. I cried. You guys know I love the mountains AND fall so I was freaking out. 

As their friends and family started to trickle in, C + W got ready separately. Cathleen did a surprise first look with Wayne (lol) before they went down to the dock to say their vows. It was windy and lovely and so intimate—just their closest peeps.

After family photos, we went to cut cake and eat some burgers inside the lodge. Finally, before our time was up, we went out for portraits. There was over a decade of loving each other before Catheleen + Wayne decide to “make it official” haha. I feel so freaking honored to have captured their celebration. This Black Lake Ranch Wedding will be forever be one of my favs!
