Hi, I’m Mikayla!

I’m a wife, mama, hiker chick, an outdoor enthusiast, a photographer. I’m really laid back, my “dog voice” is mildly annoying, and I just like to have a good time.

When my daughter was born, I learned that time is a thief. Photographs help me remember. Prior to her, I had a camera to take photos of my dogs in the beautiful places we hiked. My tiny gal inspired me and gave me a huge appreciation for my camera and my ability to document love in pretty places.

When I’m not photographing your elopement or wedding, I’m making my own memories with the loves of my life. Giving my gal and pups a good life is what drives me to get out there and explore. They keep me young (yes, that was a Mean Girls reference lol).

More than anything, I want to preserve your special moments and I want you to have a stress-free experience. You deserve a day full of love and adventure and celebration, I’m just here to document it all.

All of that to say,  I’d love to be your photographer. I won’t let you down.

I can’t wait to hear from you so we can get you booked asap and start planning your best day ever!

You can tell she is super passionate about her work and there is so much love and care that goes into each photo she takes.”

More of me, some of my favorite places, people, & four-legged buds

How this all started for me…

From the kid who would roll my eyes when my mom pulled her camera out to a woman who loves to point mine at other people.

I BOUGHT A CAMERA TO TAKE PICS OF MY DOG

I moved to Colorado and I fell in love with hiking. The only thing I loved more than hiking was bringing my Golden, Boomer, with. I needed something that gave a little more oomph than my iPhone because my phone just was not cutting it.

Here are some photos from 2017 of my loyal model, the most handsome boy.

MY BESTIE ASKED ME TO TAKE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

I told her that I only had experience taking photos of dogs and mountains but we went for it….and I liked it. A lot. This is the first photo I ever took of a couple! I had no clue what the following years would look like! Eeeeee!

This photo was the start of this whole “taking-photos-of-humans” journey! I remember how pumped I was!

I PRACTICED & LEARNED MORE TO GET TO HERE

Years of learning new things and experimenting behind the camera and this is what I have to show–the ability to take beautiful photos (and lots of knowledge and experience to accompany it). I’ve been taking photos of people and their doggies for almost 6 years now and I’ve been loving every single second.

“She really made the day about us and our photos truly show that.”
